Supervision & Consultation
LPCC Supervision
Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) supervision in Colorado should not just be about ticking off the box to get the necessary supervision hours for licensure. It should be a rich and valuable experience in which you feel supported in exploring your edges and areas of growth as a counselor without judgement while also deepening your natural gifts and knowing that I will be right there to celebrate along the way. It should be a space where you learn not only how to be a stellar therapist but also a healthy therapist with a full and whole life.
I have supervised developing counselors in individual and group formats since 2014, during my years in community mental health and substance abuse treatment but have been focusing on LPCC supervision for those interested in establishing a thriving private practice since 2019. I have exceeded the Colorado requirements for training for clinical supervision and am on the path to becoming an ACS Approved Clinical Supervisor.
I am likely the right supervisor for you if you have interest in developing and honing your IFS skills, have interest in more Self Leadership, have an interest in working with marginalized identities, and have understanding that the culture of counseling has been steeped in white supremacy and colonial culture and have an interest in dismantling that through the counseling you provide.
Individual LPCC Supervision sessions towards LPC licensure cost $150 per 55 min session, although please let me know if cost is a barrier to you as some sliding scale spots may be available for supervisees with marginalized identities. Contact me via email to check for availability.
LPCC Supervision Group
LPCC group supervision is a great way to receive supervision from a qualified supervisor towards your necessary supervision hours for licensure while also getting the group experience of collaborating with like minded peers. In this group, we will be focusing on LPCC Supervision through an IFS Lens so that we can harness the power of the IFS model in developing more Self Leadership in a group setting and honing your counseling skills through the IFS model. Please note, you must have some previous IFS Training, whether it is Level 1, the PESI 2 day training, IFS circle program, etc. This group can be held either online or in person in my office in Broomfield, CO, once a month on Fridays.
Tentative start date October 28th, 2022, 10 AM -12PM, once a month Fridays, $100 per group (paid whether you attend or not). This group will start when there are 4 confirmed participants and will close when there are 6-8 participants.
Please contact me to set up a 20 min call to discuss if this group is a good fit for you.
Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS) Consultation
I was introduced to IFS in 2015, and it has become a model of working with therapy clients and my own internal experience that has prevented burnout and renewed my vigor for therapy work. Helping other healers learn and practice IFS has also become a significant passion for me as our world could use more Self -Leadership.
As a Certified IFS Therapist and Approved IFS Clinical Consultant, IFS consultation hours will count towards your process of certifying as an IFS Therapist.
IFS consultation is for any clinicians or practitioners who want to deepen their understanding and exploration of the IFS model as a healing modality they use in their work.
IFS consultation will include: didactic learning, recorded session reviews, skills practice, and exploration of the model through working with your own parts that are impacting your work or are impacted by your work so that you can embody Self-Leadership in your personal and professional life.
Here are areas that I consider my expertise in IFS above the foundations:
- Direct Access
- Working with challenging protectors
- Legacy Burdens
- Complex polarities
- Complex Trauma and IFS
- Perinatal Mental Health and IFS
- Mixed Race Identity and IFS
- Chronic Illness/Chronic Pain and IFS
Special consideration will be given to working with BIPOC healers and others from marginalized identities.
IFS consultation is $175 per 55 min session. Please contact me to check for availability.
What People are Saying
I worked with Alexis throughout my LPC licensure journey from start to finish. Alexis always held a grounded, kind, curious, and compassionate space for me to process all that came up for me while working toward my LPC. She showed up in a very real way, which allowed me to be fully myself! She was timely and available with correspondance when I needed guidance in between our supervision sessions. From working with Alexis, I have developed a better understanding and trust in myself as a therapist as well as a clear path of what my focus is with my work.
Alexis has been instrumental in helping me feel more comfortable and confident in practicing IFS. Her knowledge, guidance and support have been incredibly helpful, both personally and professionally. I have learned a great deal and would highly recommend her as a therapist and consultant.
It was an absolute pleasure having Alexis as my consultant. Her extensive knowledge of the IFS model and the ability to stay in Self, gave me the skills I needed to achieve my certification. I would highly recommend her to anyone serious about learning the model and preparing for certification.
In my consultation sessions, she is consistently present, warm, genuinely validating and has a lot of clarity to offer. Thanks, Alexis, for doing what you do. My parts feel grateful to have you as a consultant.
Working with Alexis as my LPC supervisor has been incredibly supportive and foundational to my personal growth as a therapist, transformational really. The combination of her clinical background partnered with her deep understanding of IFS parts work is instrumental to her effectiveness as a Supervisor. She has helped me move through some deeply seated, unhealed traumas of my own that were holding me back from supporting my own clients as effectively as I can when I’m more in my own seat as a therapist. The saying, “You can’t take anyone where you haven’t been yourself” is a truism for me in my work. Alexis both helps ground me in my clinical practice and support my personal growth so I can take people as far as possible. All of this has been vital in supporting my full and very demanding private practice and rich and complex personal life.
I first met Alexis when I was in my level one IFS training. Alexis was one of the program assistants and stood out as someone who exuded courageous, grounded and compassionate energy. Throughout the training I had the opportunity to have her as a leader for one of my practice groups. She was extremely skilled and guided myself and the other participants in a way that felt safe and clear and kind.
Since that experience I have had the chance to participate in consultation with Alexis and have found her to be such a safe and wise person to learn from. She knows the model inside and out and has expertise in working with many complicated and challenging aspects of the model. She asks great questions and invites me to consider aspects of what may be occurring with my clients in a way that is both encouraging and stretching.
One of the things that stands out about Alexis continues to be the presence she offers. She provides a solid container that allows one to relax into learning. An IFS therapists/consultants presence is a huge piece of what allows the work to go to deeper and more substantial levels. She is focused, non-distracted, and unafraid of going to difficult places. I highly recommend her as a consultant. I couldn’t be happier with my experience.
